Using FT-IR for Emission Testing

This video shows Einar Jonsson, Product Manager at AVL Emission Test Systems GmbH, explaining about the use of FT-IR for emission testing. AVL has been working along with Thermo Fisher Scientific for more than 20 years to pioneer the FT-IR technology and the automotive exhaust measurement systems and support vehicle manufacturers to maintain a clean environment. The FT-IR i60, jointly developed by the two companies, has been integrated into the system for engine exhaust measurements.

A high-performance FT-IR can measure more than 20 gas components simultaneously with only one analyzer. It does not require a regular calibration and can easily be adapted to various applications with different pollutants.
