Optogenetics: Controlling Brain Cells Using Light

This video shows Dr. Karl Deisseroth from Stanford University, describing about controlling brain cells using light.

Optogenetics is a way of using light for research. In optogenetics, light is used as a stimulus to control things. Light can be used to ‘turn on’ and ‘turn off’ neurons. Optogenetics helps to  learn what actually matters and what causes behavior to happen. Advances in science have led to the development of optogenetics and have enabled scientists to control genes with light.
