Aircraft Made Lighter with ROHACELL High-Performance Foam Cores

The new ROHACELL® high-performance foam core makes aircrafts lighter and more energy-efficient. Since 2004, the AIRBUS subsidiary CTC has been in collaboration with Evonik regarding ROHACELL.

The collaboration aims to manufacture aircraft tail structures that are lighter and cheaper than previous designs. The accuracy and reproducibility of ROHACELL foam core has been the key to meet customer's demand. ROHACELL offers extreme pressure and temperature stability. It uses reliable and easy processing steps and hence it is able to achieve lower costs.
