PI’s Wide Range of Precision Motion and Positioning Technologies

This video highlights the different precision motion and positioning technologies manufactured by Physik Instrumente (PI). PI’s Piezo Motors have features, such as the smallest designs; lowest cost; linear and rotary; forces to 1000 N; sub-nm resolution; and self-locking. PI’s Hexapods Six-Axis Systems are more versatile than conventional positioners, and offer high stiffness, low moving mass, custom designs, central aperture, and linear encoders.

PI’s Piezo Flexure Mechanisms are driven by the Mars Rover-tested PICMA® Multilayer Actuators and have a wide temperature range and fast nanofocus. Flexures amplify motion to 1 mm. The Linear Motors and Gantries have 1 to 6 DoF, no wear, no cogging, and can travel to 20 mm. Tools for Super Resolution Microscopy offer fast piezo nano focus, high resolution, low profile, and self-locking with extreme stability. They are ultra-compact and affordable.

Fast Photonics Alignment Engines (Double-sided Hexapod system for testing and packaging) include Automated First Light Search for quick start-up and ease of use with PI MikroMove, and extensive software toolkit for quick time to deployment. These tools allow rapid profiling, characterization and alignment, and are FAB-proven with nanoscale reproducibility. PI provides global support.
