Overview of Q-Motion® Miniature Linear Stage Q-522

This video offers a glimpse of the Q-522 Q-Motion® Miniature Linear Stage by Physik Instrumente(PI). Q-Motion® stages have very small dimensions and a high position resolution in the nanometer range. The piezomotor drive principle and the electrical operation are cost-efficient and customizable. PIShift piezo inertia drives are self-locking when at rest, which means no heat generation and no servo jitter. They have a velocity to 10 mm/second along with a holding force of 1 N and a feed force of 1 N. All Q-Motion stages can be operated n high vacuum to 10-6 hPa. In addition, ultrahigh vacuum variants for 10-9 hPa are available. Nonmagnetic variants are also available on request.  Fields of application include microscopy, metrology, micromanipulation, automation, and biotechnology.
