Shimadzu's DSC-60 Plus Series of Differential Scanning Calorimeters

Shimadzu’s DSC-60 Plus Series is a range of rugged heat-flux differential scanning calorimeters that are used in research and development and quality control settings for the characterization of foods, pharmaceuticals, polymers and much more.

The DSC-60 Plus series offers low noise, excellent sensitivity and a highly stable baseline across the temperature range of −140°C to 600°C because of the unique detector and furnace construction.

The DSC-60 Plus series includes:

  • DSC-60 Plus Standard model
  • DSC-60A Plus model with a 24-sample integrated autosampler

Features

High Sensitivity Measurements with a Wide Calorimetric Measurement Range

Noise level is less than 0.5 µW when maintained at 150⁰C and helps measure even the smallest calorimetric changes. The wide dynamic calorimeter measurement range of ±150 mW makes it possible to characterize materials with very large calorimetric changes.

Automated Measurement Improves Efficiency

The DSC-60A Plus model features the same footprint as the standard version and has a compact, integrated autosampler that allows analysis, automated measurement and report printout for up to 24 specimens, thus enhancing the efficiency of product development and quality control activities.

Sub-Ambient Measurements Using Standard Cooling Chamber

The DSC-60 Plus calorimeters are integrated with a cooling chamber as standard, which enables measurements as low as −140⁰C, using liquid nitrogen. Besides this, the sample loading temperature function allows rapid sample exchange during sequential analysis without any moisture condensation.

The DSC-60 plus models with auto-cooling systems are available for consecutive and cycled-ambient measurements.

PC-Controlled TA-60WS Thermal Analysis Workstation

The TA-60WS thermal analysis workstation is the interface between the PC and the DSC-60 Plus series. It features user-friendly data acquisition, reporting software and data analysis. Besides this, up to four Shimadzu thermal analysis instruments of any type can be concurrently controlled by each TA-60WS.

Compliant with Analytical Laboratory Regulations Including US FDA 21 CFR Part 11

Software that accompanies the TA-60WS thermal analysis workstation is now available to conform to guidelines, like PIC/S GMP and electronic record and electronic signature (ER/ES) regulations, such as US FDA 21 CFR Part 11.

Sample Pans for a Wide Range of Applications

To complement the DSC-60 Plus series, an array of sample pans, such as the ones made up of platinum, aluminum, alumina, quartz, copper and nickel, and pressure-proof and hermetically sealed pans are available.
