Particle Size Analyzers

RSS
Several different types of particle size analyzers exist in order to measure a certain property of a particle, such as the maximum and minimum length of the particles, surface area, volume, etc. For example, an electron microscope is an instrument capable of measuring the mean diameter of particles within a sample, whereas image analyzers measure the mean area of the particles. Similarly, electrozone sensing measures the average volume of the particles within the sample, whereas laser diffraction can determine the weight equivalent mean of a sample. Each measurement technique, with their own individual advantages and disadvantages, produce a different dimension of the particle for size analysis.
