LUXOR coating systems are engineered for coating uniformity, process repeatability, and ease of operation, supporting high-quality imaging and analytical results across a wide range of SEM applications.
The LUXORAu is a fully automated sputter coater designed for efficient sample preparation. It is optimized for use with desktop SEM and tungsten floor-model SEM, enabling enhanced resolution imaging.
- A fully automated coater designed for SEM imaging applications up to 50.000x magnification
- Gold or gold/palladium targets for coating in air or argon (other target materials available upon request)
- Capable of simultaneously coating up to 7 × 12 mm stubs within 5 minutes
- The unique LUXOR ‘upside down’ design offers more protection for the operator and for your expensive SEM column
- Additional high vacuum mode for sample outgassing and low vacuum mode (150 Pa) for drying sensitive samples

Luxor Gold Coater
The LUXORAu is primarily intended for use in scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging at up to 50.000× magnification, particularly when sample charging is an issue. It applies a reproducible layer of 5 to 10 nm of gold or gold/palladium in argon or air using the cutting-edge A2 technology.
After samples are loaded, the user only need to choose the appropriate coating thickness and hit the start button to begin the completely automated coating process.
After only a few minutes of basic instruction, new operators and lab personnel can operate the device, thanks to its user-friendly design, which greatly reduces the possibility of human error.
The samples are positioned in the lid at the top of the LUXORAu sputter coater, and the target is placed at the bottom. This distinctive "upside-down" design offers significant benefits in terms of usability and safety.
All necessary parts and accessories are included with the LUXORAu sputter coater. It becomes a fully operational sputter coating equipment when combined with the optional vacuum pump. Sample holders for cylindrical stubs, resin-embedded samples, and regular pin stubs are also available.
It only takes 15 minutes to set up a LUXORAu coater. Installation and training support is offered by a worldwide network of LUXOR distributors. For additional assistance, the company's website has instructional installation videos.
