Applied Technologies

Simple to Use for Imaging and Measurement

Designed for Material Science

The optional Materials Solutions in the PRECiV™ software guides users through the most common materials science applications, from picture gathering to measurements and reports that comply with standards.

Powerful Imaging Tools

The software provides the following for optimum flexibility:

  • MIX (directional darkfield)
  • Darkfield
  • Differential interference contrast (DIC)
  • Polarization
  • Brightfield

The high-quality pictures needed for industrial applications are provided by robust color rendering and resolution. Users can also easily improve the live image using the practical features in the PRECiV software, which include:

  • Anti-glare
  • Focus aid
  • Digital Reticle
  • Live high-dynamic range (HDR)

Acquire Combined Panorama and EFI Images with a Manual Microscope

Users can acquire fully in-focus images using the extended focal imaging (EFI) capability by sequentially taking a lot of images with various focal planes. By sliding the stage over the sample, users can use the panoramic feature to capture images that are bigger than the microscope’s field of vision.

While leaving both hands on the microscope, users can combine the quick EFI and panoramic features with the PRECiV software. A split screen displays the live image and stitched image side by side, and a colored frame indication reveals the quality of each image being stitched together.

Repetitive 2D Measurements

The easy user interface and robust capabilities of the PRECiV software enable exact, repeatable two-dimensional measurements on a live or recorded picture, including:

  • Magic wand: Automatic area detection
  • Auto edge detection*: Reliably measure the distance between points
  • Object linking: Link objects to connect existing measurements
  • Edge-detected circles*: Automatically detects a circle’s contour and center
  • Auxiliary lines*: Easily make complex geometric measurements

The results of measurements can be put on a worksheet and exported to Excel with ease.

*Available in PRECiV Pro and PRECiV Desktop; optional in PRECiV Core.

Connectivity that Enables Efficiency

The user’s system becomes a networked workstation with the PRECiV software, which has several advantages:

  • Make use of a floating license and a floating licensing server
  • Save configuration files and pictures with ease to OneDrive or a network disc
  • Share procedures and configuration data between workstations, including measurements, image processing settings, and materials solutions settings
  • Get software updates and security fixes automatically
  • Upgrade to new software versions

Pictures can be saved and loaded in a variety of formats, or JPEG images can be saved with calibration data for traceability. Olympus can offer a Manufacturer Disclosure Statement for Medical Device Security (MDS2) that focuses on the NIST Framework for cybersecurity in terms of security.

Software Packages

Different departments in a company can buy a license for the PRECiV™ software at the level they need since it is expandable.

PRECiV Capture

PRECiV Capture is an entry-level offering for clients who wish to use their current microscope to take simple 2D measurements and gather digital pictures for purposes like arriving goods inspection.

PRECiv Core

PRECiV Core balances cost and functionality, offering expanded focus images and measurement export possibilities for an exceptional value. It is ideal for clients in QA laboratories and inspection rooms with a strong focus on images.

PRECiV Pro

PRECiV Pro is the most potent and flexible version of the software since it contains all of the features and functions. Customers in QA/QC, failure analysis, and anybody else who wants to create analytical reports and measurements to validate a sample or production lot can all use the features available in the Pro edition.

PRECiV Desktop

Customers who wish to post-process their data away from the microscope with all available measurement and analysis capabilities but without camera and image capture controls can use the desktop version of PRECiV software.
