The Thermo Scientific™ ECA-3 Elemental Coal Crossbelt Analyzer is an online system that enables quick elemental analysis of the coal stream, allowing for accurate sorting and blending to satisfy contract criteria.
The ECA-3 is a full-stream, on-the-belt, real-time measurement system for critical coal streams, collecting information to improve sorting, blending, and out-of-seam dilution processes.
It provides minute-by-minute data for clean, raw, and blended coals, reporting essential characteristics such as ash and sulfur content, as well as quantities of compounds of interest (e.g., SiO2, Al2O3, and Fe2O3). An optional moisture analyzer adds moisture content and heating value measurements to the reporting slate.
The ECA-3 can effectively protect customer specifications at the pit, increase the efficiency of preparation plants, and reduce the use of higher-quality, more expensive coals at power plants. The ECA-3 provides accurate, real-time measurements of coal composition, allowing for precise management of coal grade and power plant feed with high efficiency.
