The K77000 Automated Pour Point Analyzer is state-of-the-art equipment for measuring pour point using the Automatic Tilt Method. The Pour Point of a petroleum product indicates the lowest temperature at which it may be used in specific applications. Flow parameters, such as pour point, are important for the proper operation of lubricating oil systems, fuel systems, petroleum blending, and pipeline operations.
ASTM D5950 - To determine the pour point of petroleum products using an automated equipment that tilts the test jar while cooling and detects movement of the test specimen's surface using an optical device. This test procedure is intended to cover the temperature range of –66 to +51 °C.
After preparatory heating, the test specimen is placed in the automated pour point device. Following the commencement of the program, the specimen is cooled using the cooling profile described in the ASTM Method and evaluated at 1 or 3 °C intervals. The pour point is determined by the lowest temperature at which the automated equipment detects the movement of the specimen.
