Vertex Mercury Free Pressure Sensor with 250-10,0000 PSI Pressure Range Capability

The Vertex melt pressure sensor from Dynisco exceeds or matches the performance of the traditional sensor. When compared, Vertex stands is more environment-friendly, much faster, and more robust.

The pressure range for Vertex has been extended and is currently available from 250 - 10,000 PSI. Vertex is considered to be more accurate within Dynisco’s Polymer Test equipment than any other mercury-filled sensor, and is also suitable for industrial applications requiring low pressure. This is considered to be an overall advancement to the process, and it also helps with customers focused on zero-waste and sustainability.

The direct measurement tip is an elegant and simple design with an extremely robust diaphragm. Errors transferred by complicated internal support structures, moving push rods, or transmission fill materials are reduced with direct measurement of the process.

The diaphragm thickness can be up to 7.5 times thicker than a conventional sensor and is pressure range dependent. A diaphragm composition of Inconel 718 coated with the abrasion resistant properties of DyMax® when added to the existing features helps experience the true definition of a robust sensor that has proven to increase the sensor’s life, reducing the cost of ownership.

The speed of response of the sensor is extended by Vertex  design innovation. Faster sensing measurements are in demand by faster controls and processes. Vertex is several times faster than conventional sensors, improving real time production.

Vertex sensors are custom designed to work with universal pressure indicators. HART digital communication is available for increasingly extensive diagnostics and remote configuration. A melt temperature signal and a 4 - 20 mA temperature output are provided by an optional Type J or K thermocouple.

Vertex comprises of a 1/2-20 UNF for installation in conventional transducer mounting holes. These sensors also have an adaptor that allows 1/2-20 UNF units to be installed into a Button Seal application. Washdown capability is available for mechanical and food applications with the help of a sealed, welded shell and electrical connection. However, these are not available if thermocouple option TCx is selected.
