NIR Process Cells — PAT — Process Analytical Technology

UV/Vis/NIR Process Cells from Specac are a part of Process Analytical Technology (PAT). Bringing light to the chemistry of the process stream via fiber optic cables, they make it possible for NIR or UV/Vis spectrometers to gather data remotely from the source.

Specac's Process Cells can be subject to extreme physical demands, so they are designed to be robust to both the chemical and physical challenges of chemical process plants. These conditions are equally dangerous to employees, which is why safe methods of installing and servicing the system are just as vital as in-service requirements.

To minimize experimental drift over long periods of service, the optical components are created for accurate fitting and, most all, physical stability over the life of the cell.

Specac has over 25 years of experience in the development of precise infrared optics, high-grade technical materials for chemical compatibility, and cutting-edge design for optimal serviceability, installation simplicity, and customer support.

The process cell range includes the following:

Vortex: Flange-Mounted Liquid Process Cell

  • Pathlengths from 1 to 10 mm
  • ANSI or DIN flange mountings
  • Temperatures up to 280 °C and pressures of 1500 psi

Typhoon: Gas/Vapor Process Cell

  • Pathlengths of 20, 30, or 50 cm as standard
  • Swagelok process fittings
  • Temperatures up to 280 °C and pressures of 1500 psi

Cascade: Swagelok Liquid Process Cell

  • Pathlengths from 1 to 10 mm
  • Swagelok process fittings
  • Temperatures up to 280 °C and pressures of 1500 psi

The specifications can be customized depending on user requirements.
