Use and Benefits

The Universal Imaging System is built around the SceneScope RUVIS UHD camera and is designed for fingerprint and palmprint detection, enhancement, and comparison throughout the Full Spectrum.

The system comes with a computer, 29 MP Ultra High-Definition CCD Camera, forensic light source, and an Image Enhancement or Comparison Software Suite that features a new powerful tool for the tracking of enhancements, capture, minutiae extraction, compressed and encrypted storage, and side by side comparison and charting.

Examples

The Color images displayed below were not captured with the Universal Imaging System. They were captured with the help of a generic digital camera and are offered to demonstrate what would be viewed with the human eye.

All of the available Black and White fingerprint images were captured with the Universal Imaging System using the included capture software and “Zoomed In” with the help of the included ImaQuest Fingerprint Enhancement Software.

Includes ImaQuest

ImaQuest is an enhancement and comparison suite that eliminates fluorescent backgrounds, climates periodic backgrounds with FFT, and features an extensive range of digital filters for processing prints.

ImaQuest has the potential to track all changes that are automatically made to the image and features a special format that records the original image and all mathematical treatments that have been applied to the image, encrypts the data, and further restricts access via multiple user accounts and passwords.

IdentQuest is Part of ImaQuest

IdentQuest is known to be the digital comparator component of ImaQuest. It features automated extraction and a manual edition of minutiae points. Any two prints can be loaded, scanned, or acquired and viewed side by side. Select either automated comparison, or do it manually.

Once compared and marked, the pair can be transferred to a built-in document creator. Templates for individual departments can also be created, saved, and reused. Printouts for court or case jackets can be printed on any installed printer. Work can also be saved as images for use in presentations.

The Universal Imaging System is a complete system for the detection, optical enhancement, capture, digital enhancement, and output of fingerprint and palmprint images. It can also be used to image of other varieties of evidence.

UIS includes the computer hardware, Full Frame CCD camera, 16MP Ultra High Resolution, filters and lenses for optical enhancements, SPEX Forensics FOCUS FLS, and the ImaQuest software suite for digital enhancements.

Specifications

Safety First

All SceneScope RUVIS UHD Systems consist of eye and skin protection devices against UV radiations. All RUVIS devices include lamps that discharge high-intensity shortwave ultraviolet.

Being exposed to such wavelengths of radiation, including reflected or diffused, could lead to serious, and sometimes irreversible, skin and eye injuries. It is not advised to aim the shortwave UV lamp at anyone, and users are warned never to look directly into the shortwave UV lamp. It is necessary to wear appropriate eye and skin protection while using any RUVIS device.

The system has been manufactured under ISO 9001 standards.

As with any alternate light source, it is necessary to wear eye and skin protection. Please illuminate in a responsible manner.
