Laird CoolZorb 500: Thermal Gap Filler

CoolZorb 500 is a second-generation hybrid material designed for both EMI mitigation and thermal management. It’s applied like a traditional thermal gap filler - positioned between a heat source, such as an integrated circuit (IC), and a heat sink, metal chassis, or other heat-dissipating surface.

In addition to thermal performance, CoolZorb 500 effectively suppresses unwanted energy coupling, resonances, and surface currents that can cause board-level EMI issues.

Benefits

  • High thermal conductivity (4 W/mK) with effective EMI suppression across the 20–90 GHz range
  • Naturally tacky surface for easy placement, similar to standard thermal gap fillers
  • Enhances the overall reliability and durability of electronic systems
  • Tested to meet UL 94 V-0 flame requirements
