Benefits
One System – Many Applications
The Professional VA systems cover the full range of voltammetric and polarographic analysis and can be used for applications such as:
- Trace determination of metals, including cadmium, lead, nickel, cobalt, and iron in seawater, salts, and high-purity chemicals
- Analysis of various transition metal ions in water samples
- Additives and impurities in electroplating solutions
- Determination of copper and iron in boiler feed water
- Measurement of ultra-trace metal species in seawater
- Organic additives in plating solutions with Cyclic Voltammetric Stripping (CVS)
The compact design of the Professional VA helps conserve valuable bench space. When multiple applications are required, the interchangeable measuring head enables quick and easy switching between methods, allowing analysis to continue without interruption.

Higher Throughput with Automation
The Professional VA can be customized with automation and liquid-handling modules to reduce manual workload while improving accuracy and reproducibility.
For example, Dosinos can be used to manage reagent and sample additions, pump stations can handle automatic rinsing, and a sample processor can enable fully automated analyses, delivering highly precise and reproducible results without operator intervention.

Full System Control with Viva
The Professional VA and all connected modules are operated through the user-friendly and powerful viva software. With viva, methods can be adapted and edited to fully match specific application requirements.
The viva database stores all determinations together with the associated data, such as curves and results. Information is presented clearly in a practical list, and individual determinations can be opened with a single click. Built-in sorting, searching, and filtering functions make it quick and easy to locate specific data. Recorded results can also be reprocessed, for example, to perform retroactive recalibration using a newly measured standard solution.

Options and Upgrades
Automation
Increase the Sample Throughput
The Professional VA system can be expanded with a range of automation modules to improve throughput, accuracy, and reliability of analyses:
- Dosinos for automatic addition of reagents and samples
- Sample processors enabling fully automated analysis of up to 56 samples in a single run
- Pump stations for automatic rinsing of the measuring vessel
- Level sensors to issue alerts when waste containers are full and to prevent overflow
Sample Preparation
Quick and Effective Sample Preparation
Organic contamination in a sample can interfere with the voltammetric analysis of trace levels of heavy metals. The 909 UV Digester rapidly and effectively decomposes organic molecules through UV photolysis (in accordance with DIN 38406, Parts 16 and 17), ensuring reliable determinations.
