The JEOL Auto Fine Coater is a user-friendly sputter coater designed to apply a fine-grained platinum coating to non-conductive samples for SEM imaging. A platinum target is included with the system, and alternative targets such as gold (Au) and gold/palladium (Au/Pd) are also available.
This system features fully automated vacuum control - using either air or argon purge - and sputtering. For samples with complex topography, an optional rotating and tilting specimen stage ensures more uniform coating coverage.
Key Features
- Deposits a thin, conductive film that reduces charging on non-conductive materials and improves secondary electron emission.
- Employs a low-voltage discharge system with a magnetron electrode for efficient, cold sputtering.
- Supports both automatic and manual operation, with selectable gas types (air or argon).
- Coating thickness can be adjusted by modifying sputtering current, sputtering time, the distance from the target, and the sample’s position relative to the center of the stage.
